Reminding me of a beach house with it’s open floor plan, lots of windows and a porch like outside seating area; Greene House makes me instantly relax. The staff continues this feeling with their relaxed but outdoorsy outfits with attitudes to match. Looking around you have a great mix of people, from business men in the commons offices to visitors walking over from the Westin to locals doing a little supporting of the local economy with bags from all the great shops.

One of my biggest pet peeves are nice restaurants which don’t have both white and black cloth napkins. I hate walking out with little white specs all over my black dress pants and I have seen many of my women friends with black specs on their white dresses. Not a problem here as everyone had appropriate colors so all they walk out with is a full stomach of great California inspired cuisine. Which is definitely the case.

I started with the pork dumplings which come in a little cast iron skillet. Covered in ginger ponzu sauce with chunks of ginger floating and little sesame seeds that you can really taste. The turkey flatbread was large enough for two meals and I opted for the more healthy mixed greens with a balsamic vinaigrette although fries comes with it as well if you’re feeling a bit more like indulging. My indulgence would come next with half my sandwich in a Togo bag I felt I could afford to try the pineapple rum cake. Doesn’t it sound Divine?

Unfortunately for me they had run out of the cake. So while I was sad it just gives me a reason to come back. Not that I needed another one.

This Fox Restaurant Concept is located in the heart of Kierland Commons. Greene House is literally the green structure that sits next to another Fox hot spot: North.

The glass garage style doors are usually open and give the restaurant an indoor/outdoor relaxed feel. On a nice day the misting patio is the perfect spot enjoy a glass of wine and watch the bustling shoppers pass by with their packages. (I like the “Terzo” option they offer, it is about a glass and a half of wine.)

The food is New American and you can find diners mostly enjoying sandwiches and salads.

On my most recent visit to Greene House we started with the spinach artichoke fondue. It was thick, creamy and hearty. It was paired with grilled flatbread which was the perfect dipper to hold up to this thick dip. I had to limit myself to just a little bit or I would be too full for lunch. For lunch I ordered the Kobe Burger. Juicy, tender and all those rich/fatty flavors Kobe beef has. The cheddar, bacon and a hint of 1000 island dressing complimented this already delicious burger. I got fries as my side and could only indulge in a few, for I was getting full.

Nice variety of selections on the menu and great location! I always enjoy my visits to Greene House.
