She Said
Are we at the right place?? Is what I was thinking as we walked into Dick’s Hideaway. You could easily miss the front door (because there is no sign) but once inside what a sight! I felt as though I was walking into a cowboy speakeasy. The atmosphere is dark, cozy and western. An awesome bar in the front room and a second room for dining with tables in every nook. I wanted to sit at the bar it looked so lively and fun, but it was full (bummer) so we sat at a table in the second room.
The staff is warm and welcome to give suggestions off the menu. The menu offers a great variety of New Mexican/Southwest cuisines. I had the New Mexico Enchiladas. I had my choice of: green chili pork, grilled shrimp, chicken, beef, cheese or smoked turkey…and a choice of red or green sauce. I chose shrimp with green sauce. The shrimp were grilled perfectly and the dish was very flavorful. It was served with delicious rice and beans.
I am looking forward to going back soon and hopefully snag a seat at the bar. If you’re having a hard time finding Dick’s Hideaway…don’t give up, it’s worth it!
