Table for 4! Easily booked online and ready for our group when we arrived. We were never rushed or encouraged to get moving, in fact the staff kept our meal moving at a very enjoyable speed. Which is great because we ended up spending a few hours eating and talking. The chalkboards on the wall with all the specials lead to one lengthy discussion on what exactly should we all be eating. It was hard to choose because I personally had 5 options that I couldn’t decide upon. Thankfully our waitress helped me decide or I might still be sitting there figuring it out.

I ordered the Osso Bucco which had a great twist on it, with the New Mexican flavoring. It was surprising and lovely all at the same time. The meat was cooked perfectly. Be warned all our plates were quite large so starting with an appetizer is only for the very hungry. OK sure, we ordered the guacamole. It was a bit spicy and honestly wasn’t my favorite but I am more traditional in guacamole preferences. This was thin with chunks of veggies. I like it thick and creamy. Just a preference really as it was good and came with an even spicier salsa and then small ramekins of both red and green chili. Surprisingly those were the least spicy of them all. My companions ordered carne adobada, salmon with orange chili, and green chili cheese tilapia. Are you noticing a theme here? Rokerij is proud of the chilis and even on their menu they warn you about their chilis, “if you order it you own it”.

Everyone enjoyed their meal and conversation stopped the moment everyone started eating. Always a good sign. Not to be out done by the dinner, the brunch menu actually caught our eye as well, it looked like a love affair waiting to happen. I think without even having to say it to each other, this group of 4 will return for brunch someday soon.
