You could drive right past it and never be the wiser. In a non-descript strip-mall sits a vibrant and exciting option for an area that really doesn’t have a large restaurant population. Right off the 51 and Shea it’s hidden in the corner of the shopping plaza. But don’t keep driving! Stop and smell the BBQ. Then head right in and eat it.

So my first recommendation is that you either go later in the evening or you make a reservation. We went the reservation and it got packed very quick but seemed to open up by the time we left. Although we did hang out for a long time enjoying our evening with maybe a few cocktails and beer. I also have no doubt that that evening opening is going to go away pretty quickly once more people get word of this great food.

Service is fantastic. For being a new restaurant we didn’t expect much in the terms of knowledge from the staff. Our server was attentive and cheerful and that was great but the best part was her ability to tell us all about the restaurant itself. Why they chose the location, how long it’s been open, etc. Once we got our fill of the inside story she moved on to give us recommendations and we ended up taking all of them and that made us happy and full customers. We started with what seemed too simple for a foodie, but we went on the recommendations and choose the nachos. Wow! They were house made tortillas, chopped brisket hash, chipotle cheddar sauce, roasted jalapeño, and chunky avocado relish. It was no wonder why they are one of their biggest sellers. I went with a rack of ribs and while I could only eat about a third of them, I did so with a smile and saucy fingers. They have a multitude of sauce options and I quickly found out that the Dr. Pepper based sauce was my favorite. They even gave me a bigger container to take home with me to finish my ribs off the next day. The sides are all al a carte but they weren’t crazy priced and a few of them were shareable. I felt very comfortable with what we paid. My cohort had a burger that I have to be honest I sometimes dream about. I’ll let her tell you the details. So look over and read her experience.
