He Said

Oh so you never hear of it? As a relatively new entry into the arcadia district of amazing food venues, it instantly caught my eye with its orange umbrellas along Indian School road. Not to mention it backs up against the canal I walk each weekend. The microbrewery and restaurant is a great local hang with so many beers on tap there is a chalk board taking up an entire wall to walk you through it. After one of my weekend walks we stopped in for their Sunday brunch. We sat inside on this occasion, but they have a back patio area right along the canal which is exactly my kind of outside eating preference. The brunch menu entrees during this occasion came with a free beer attached to it so how can you really go wrong. I just burned a bunch of calories so I might as well replenish them. I ordered a breakfast flatbread and both my companion and I thought it took the cake for the breakfast choices. Her vegan bruschetta had a little to be desired for on the presentation but she enjoyed it none the less. We also learned it changes as the seasons and their selection of vegetables change. So it could be different each time you get it depending on how often you go.

The real draw to this location is the beer and the clientele. You will occasionally see an out of place couple with a confused look on their face. They believe they are in the German restaurant which is no longer there and once they figure it out they are out quicker than you can bat an eyelash. But if you pull up a chair, relax, have a couple of beers, and enjoy people watching you will be happy you stuck around. I think this place is only going to get better. And don’t ask them what O.H.S.O stand for, as we learned, they don’t really say.

She Said

We briefly stopped at this Arcadia hot spot during a bike ride. Rustic and relaxed  inside with fun and lively patio in the back. We only had time for an appetizer and a drink. We ordered the OHSO Green Chili Dip which was tasty and had just enough spice to warm me up after our chilly ride. I also had the OHSO Bloody Mary. Yum! it is one of the best Bloody Mary’s I’ve had. Any drink that comes with a pickle and beef jerky gets a thumbs up by me. Can’t wait to pop back into OHSO for a FULL meal.
